ZNP International Cooperation

ZNP is a part of:
  • ETUCE- European Trade Union Committee for Education - The European Trade Union Committee for Education, which was established in 1975, represents 118 teachers' unions in 28 European Union (EU) and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) countries. ETUCE is composed of national organisations of teachers and other staff in education being member organisations of Education International (EI) or the World Confederation of Teachers (WCT). It has associated member organisations in the Central and Eastern European countries. The total coverage in Europe amounts to 166 organisations
  • PAN European Structures; since 2003 Sławomir Broniarz, ZNP President, has been the Polish representative on the Executive Board
  • WCT- World Confederation of Teachers; Sławomir Broniarz, ZNP President, is currently a member of the WCT Board and Kalina Grzelak is a member of the Women's Committee in the CMT-WCL Board

Our 348 member organisations operate in 169 countries, from pre-school to university.

As the world’s largest Global Union Federation, and the only one representing education workers in every corner of the globe, Education International unites all teachers and education workers no matter where they are.

Education International protects the rights of every teacher and education worker, and every student they educate.

We assist the development of democratic organisations for Teachers and other Education Workers and build Solidarity & Mutual Co-operation.

We combat Racism & Discrimination in Education and Society, fostering good Relations between Education workers in all countries.

Education International is the voice for the education sector world-wide.

Since 1992 ZNP has been active in its international cooperation, the Union stays in close contact with the unions in Germany, Austria, France, Ukraine, Denmark, Israel and Belarus. Cooperation with German partners is the most prominent since it has contributed to several educational initiatives, such as
  1. German language courses for Polish teachers of German organized every year since 1996 with the aim of developing teachers' skills as a result of cooperation with the Teacher Training Institute in Hamburg
  2. Educational enterprises and debates in cooperation with Gewerkschaft Erziehung und Wissenschaft (GEW)
  3. Educational Projects especially those preparing Polish youths to find job in the European Labour Market with the help of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, called "Workshops of the future"
  4. "Live, learn and work in Europe" - Educational Project of ZNP and DGB – Deutscher Gewerkschaftsbund organized with the help of the Ministry of Polish Education and Sports together with the Ministry of German Education and Science (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung)
